At Mwnt, doing what I love doing best

Hello! I'm Susanna!

I moved to Pembrokeshire rather accidentally in 2020 and, just like pretty much everyone I know, I fell head-over-heels in love with it almost immediately

I’ve always enjoyed taking photographs, and I've been lucky enough to travel to some pretty amazing parts of the world, always with a camera in my hand. But Pembrokeshire’s huge skies, extraordinary light, spectacular sunsets and sunrises, rugged coastline, beautiful hills, ancient monuments and wonderful wildlife have inspired me like never before.

So how did I end up with a photography website?

Well, it's a surprise to me too!

After seeing my photos of Newport and the surrounding area on social media, the Information Centre in Newport asked me to produce a range of cards for them. They proved very popular, so they asked me to produce postcards, then a calendar…and things have snowballed from there!

After accumulating over 30,000 photographs and counting over the last few years, it’s wonderful to finally have something to do with them...and, even better, a way to share them.

As my range of photo products and stockists grew, I got asked more and more if I had a website or an online gallery. So I decided to try my hand at building one, and this is the result! It’s still very much a work in progress...but at least I can get out and about taking pics again between uploads and updates!

My past life

Before all this, I had a long career in academic and online publishing, followed by many years as a marketing consultant, working on online publishing-related projects in many different parts of the world. I enjoyed my work enormously, but shortly after moving to Pembrokeshire I decided it was time for a change.

It just became more and more difficult to sit at my desk, thinking about how much happier I would be walking on the coast path or in my beautiful backyard, the Preseli Hills.

So, one day, I decided to see how it would feel to stop. I've never gone back and, as so many people say, I really can’t believe I ever had time to work!
